Stuffed champignons with ham

This dish is quite simple to do and it’s always very effective :)  Stuffed mushrooms with ham and melted cheese not only look delicious but they are also very tasty!

A great half-meat and half-vegetable proposal for a hot starter :)

To prepare this meal you’ll need:

  • 6 big champignons – if they are smaller, you’ll need 8
  • 1 big onion – diced
  • 7 oz. ham in slices and diced
  • 5 oz. hard cheese – grated
  • 1 tbsp. crumbs
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of pepper

Add diced onion on a hot frying pan and braise it slowly. Meanwhile wash champignons, peel them and separate their stems. Chop the stems and add them to onion. Now dice ham – it’s best to buy it is slices – and add it to onion and mushrooms. Stew it until whole water is evaporated. Add some salt and pepper. Cool it down.

When a bit colder, add half of the grated cheese and table spoon of crumbs to it – mix. Apply the prepared stuffing into champignons’ caps and place them in ovenware with lid. Put the remaining cheese on the top of stuffed caps.

Insert it into a hot oven and bake in 300°F for 25min.

×TIP It’s better to serve them hot, however they also taste good as a cold appetizer :)
